The Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Vedic Vishwavidyalaya (MMYVV) was established by the Act No. 37 of 1995 of Madhya Pradesh Government vide Gazette notification no 537 dated 29 Nov 1995. The University head office is at Village-Karoundi, District-Katni, Madhya Pradesh. Distance Education Office of the University is situated at Lamti, Vijay Nagar, Jabalpur. MMYVV has been established as a statutory University like any other UGC recognized University. The MMYVV is reputed to disseminate quality education. The University is an affiliating University with Jurisdiction spread over entire Madhya Pradesh Hon’ble Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Ji is the first Chancellor of the University.
The University is administered by Vice Chancellor through a Board of Management and its various councils e.g. Academic Council, Finance, etc. MMYVV has been registered in list of UGC under section 2F. It is also a member of Association of Indian Universities. The University offers Post Graduate (Acharya), Graduate (Shastri) and Diploma (Praman Patra) Programmes in Maharishi Ved Vigyan, Jyotish, Yog, Sthaptya Ved-Vastu Vidya and Vedic Swasthya Vidhan. Other than these progrmmes, one-year diploma course are also being conducted. BBA and BCA programmes approved by Directorate of Technial Education M.P. are being conducted since 1998. Full time B.Ed course approved by National Council of Teachers Education [NCTE] is conducted from Jabalpur Campus. D.Ed and B.P.Ed courses, are awaiting sanction of NCTE and will be on offer w.e.f. academic year 2007.

was established at Gram-Karoundi, Distt.-Katni, the center point
Brahm Sthan, the geographic center of the nation, of the Ved Bhumi
land of fulfillment (Purn Bhumi Bharta) India.
By
now thousands of students have been awarded degrees from this university.
Many authorized study centers are being established so that the
various courses of the university may reach the masses through distance
education programme.
