The MMYVV was established by the Act No. 37 of 1995 of Madhya Pradesh Government vide gazette notification no 573 dated 29 Nov 1995. The University head office is at Village Karaundi, Tehsil Sihora, District Katni (earlier Katni was part of Jabalpur district), Madhya Pradesh. Directorate of Distance Education of the University is situated at Karaundi, Post : Mehner, Distt : Katni (M.P.) - 483 332 .
MMYVV has been established as a statutory University like any other UGC recognized University by a separate act. But Since 7th November 2014 UGC Put in the list of State Private University as maintained by the UGC. University has filed a WP before Hon’ble High Court of M.P. and the matter is still pending before Hon’ble High Court Sub Judice.
The MMYVV has been established to disseminate quality education by using innovative methodology based on subjective knowledge of Maharishi Vedic Science, Transcendental Meditation (TM) and TM Sidhi programme. Maharishi Educational Institutions worldwide utilize Maharishi Consciousness based Education System (MCBE) for over 50 years. In India MMYVV has also introduced MCBE in mainstream of education.
The university offers Doctoral, PG, Gradual and Diploma programmes in most ancient Indian knowledge of Ved and Vedic Literature. The university started regular B. Ed. B.El.Ed and B.A.B.Ed. courses approved by National Council of Teachers Education. [NCTE]. MMYVV offers not only life oriented-life supporting Vedic courses but also offers conventional and professional job oriented courses. All modern and professional courses also have Vedic Science as part of curriculum, allowing students to enjoy full creative genius and total all round personality. MMYVV operates through its head office at Karaundi.
The MMYVV HQ is situated in Village Karaundi, Block Umariapan, Tehsil Dheemarkheda, district Kanti. The HQ is located approximately 80 Km from Jabalpur and 35 Km from Katni. Karaundi can be reached from Jabalpur & Katni by road [NH 7]. In Both cases have to leave the highway and need to turn from Sleemnabad (next to petrol station and take direction Umariapan) Nearest railway station is Sihora. Sihora railway station is about 40 kms from the campus. Students/visitors should make sure if train has a stop at Sihora station.
Yes, it is affiliating University by its Act but as it has been put in the list of Private University Since 7th November 2014 at present it is not affiliating any college.
His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Ji was the first Chancellor of the University. Now from January 2009 Brahmachari Girish Ji (Dr. Girish Chandra Varma, an accomplished world renowned educationist and the most blessed disciple of Maharishi Ji) is the Chancellor.
The University is administered by Vice-Chancellor through a Board of Management and its various authorities and councils e.g. Academic Council, Finance Committee etc.
Yes, MMYVV has been included in list of universities maintained by the UGC under section 2 (f) in 1998.
 MMYVV is a member of Association of Indian Universities since 1998.
The University offers Doctoral (Vidyavaridhi), Post Graduate (Acharya), Graduate (Shastri) and Diploma (Praman Patra) Programmes in Vedic subject–Maharishi Ved Vigyan, Jyotish, Yog, Sthapatya Ved-Vastu Shastra, Darshan, Vyakaran. Other than these Vedic programmes, one-year diploma in Modern Office Management are also available.
M.Sc. (CS), MA (Education), BA, B.Com., BCA, B.Sc (CS), B.Ed, B.A.B.Ed,& B.El.Ed, P.G.D.C.A. D.C.A courses are also available.

There is no entrance test for regular and distance education programmes of MMYVV. Any one can take admission in any of the programmes subject to his/her being eligible for admission as per the eligibility conditions. Admission to regular B.Ed, B.A.B.Ed,& B.El.Ed. programmes is as laid down by State Government-MP.
The University admits student as per academic calendar of the university for all Vedic, conventional and Vocational Courses.
The advertisement for admission is published in November-December and May-June every year, in all major English/Hindi newspapers published within MP and nearby states.

Cost of Nidarshika/Prospectus/Brochure is Rs. 250. When requested by post/courier, please send a Demand Draft in favour of MMYVV payable at Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh.
The course fee is to be paid through crossed demand draft payable to MMYVV at Jabalpur/Online Payment Gateway.
Besides benefits which the students gain in the normal educational system, exposure to time tested, scientifically validated, Maharishi's Consciousness based Education System helps students reach full potential as human being. Other additional benefits include:
(a) The practice of Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation (TM) Programme is the practical aspect of Maharishi's Vedic Science and Technology, which imbibes the basic principles underlying and supporting the development of higher states of consciousness, thus laying the foundation for increased intelligence in the minds of the students and support of laws of nature. These deep connections between the students’ own growth of individual consciousness and cosmic consciousness around them is an integral part of curricula at MMYVV.
(b) Maharishi Transcendental Meditation[TM] technique, which is taught to every student is a simple, natural and effortless technique which is easily and systematically learned by anyone irrespective of age, education, religion, or background. The twice daily group practice of TM instills in students a natural orderliness and coherence making them more receptive to knowledge. They exhibit greater alertness and radiate bliss and friendliness to their classmates and their teachers.
(c) MMYVV has life oriented– life supporting Vedic courses, which hone the overall personality and outlook of students leading to a better quality of life. Ambitious students also combine Graduates programmes with Jyotish, Vastu or Health courses to develop their knowledge as a hobby or qualify to dual profession utilizing this knowledge as consultants.
Other than MA (Education) and Vedic Courses, all programmes are on semester basis.
Staff of the MMYVV and other Maharishi Organisations including dependents is eligible for concession of up to 50% on gross fee.
Yes. It is desirable that all fees are paid in single installment. Those unable to do so will be allowed to pay required installment of tuition fee only prior to commencement of each semester.
Fee of ineligible candidates is refunded after a deduction of admission and enrollment fee as processing charges. In other cases fee is not refundable.
Yes, written request to the Vice Chancellor, MMYVV can be made for change. The student will, on obtaining sanction, deposit Rs. 300/- toward administrative costs.

Yes, with late fee as prescribed by the University.
Rs. 50/- will be charged subject to the copy of FIR being produced by the students.
No fee is charged for issuing a duplicate admit card/roll no.
No. He can reappear in those papers along with the examination of the next semester. In case he fails in four consecutive attempts, his request for reappearing in those papers will not be considered. For further appearance the decision of the Academic Council would be final and binding.
No, University have not been established any study center.
Study materials and assignment will be provided to student on completion of all admission formalities.
Yes. University will arrange contact programme for the students.
Government of Madhya Pradesh has number of schemes for SC and ST students to reimburse total university fee. As of now scholarship facility are available for B.Ed, BA.B.Ed & B.El.Ed and for all other courses it is under process by Department of Higher Education of M.P.
No. However the MMYVV is actively seeking international mix of participants.
As a general rule for each courses, except the courses approved by NCTE. These are 100 seats for B.Ed, 50 seats for BA.B.Ed & 50 Seats for B.El.Ed.
Yes. B.Ed. student scoring 75% and above can be inducted into Maharishi Vidya Mandir Schools, which is the largest chain of privately owned public schools. Similarly other student will be provided assistance for placements within different Maharishi organizations within Indian and abroad. Efforts are being made to set up guidance and counseling section to help students to secure suitable placement.
